Here in Australia, the climate for plant-based products is heating up! It seems like every week we are seeing the introduction of a number of new plant-based companies or brands seeking funding to grow the industry as a whole.

Seeing all of these new incumbents is an exciting prospect for the country and means plenty that plenty more options will be hitting your local supermarket shelves.

With the capital raising this week of All G Foods, we thought we would take a look at a few of the local success stories and how they are bringing their plant-based products to market.

All G Foods (Love Buds Meat)

Funding: $15.5 Million

Funding: $4.8 Million

Fable is a delicious plant-based alternative to slow cooked braised beef. … Fable slow cooked braised beef is made from 62% shiitake mushrooms and a short list of all natural plant based ingredients.

V2Foods

Funding: $184 Million

v2food is an Australia-based producer of plant-based meat substitutes. It is a partnership between Jack Cowin’s Competitive Foods Australia and CSIRO’s investment fund Main Sequence Ventures. The company produces plant-based meat alternative products using protein extracted from legumes.

Harvest B

Funding: $4.5 Million

Harvest B is a smart ingredient system to make plant-based meat. They are powering food brands with the key ingredient system needed to make planet-friendly, plant-based meat superfoods that people love to eat.

Fenn Foods

Funding: $200K

Paving the way toward a healthy plant-based future for Australians since 2015, family business Fënn Foods puts sustainability at the heart of every decision it makes. With celebrated chef Alejandro Cancino at the helm of Fënn Foods’ recipe development, customers can expect to enjoy natural, high-quality and seriously delicious vegan fare that will appeal to (and surprise) everyone.
