The future of leather is: Mushroom?

As the world continues to look for new and more sustainable ways to produce everyday items we are seeing the launch of so many new and interesting materials. The humble mushroom or mycelium is one of these materials.

What we really love about this material is that it has the potential strength and properties to replace leather (cow skin). This is not only great for the cows but also the environment as tanning and tanneries produce huge amounts of toxic residue in the production process.
