Head of the Eimele Scientific Advisory Board, Simon Hill

Tell us about the brand and its founding story

Eimele’s mission is to help people unlock the power of plants and adopt plant based dietary patterns in a way that is convenient and also sustainable.

It’s proven that a plant-based diet will help us all live healthier, longer lives while protecting the future of our planet and it’s a way of eating that’s gentler on the planet.

That’s why eimele was created and formed a Scientific Advisory Board of Nutritionists, Formulators, Naturopaths and Medical Advisors to create nutrient-dense products that can transform your health without sacrificing convenience, safety, or ethics. They rely on a rigorous scientific approach to develop premium formulations with the goal of simplifying your path to health and wellbeing.

The product is made in Australia, what promoted this choice?

Australia is home to some of the strictest manufacturing rules and regulations in the world thanks to the TGA. Eimele is committed to providing the best quality, evidence based products, advanced testing and transparent production in line with TGA standards so that the eimele community can shop with confidence.

The product is backed by some impressive advisors, how important is this advice and council?

The Eimele Scientific Advisory Board, which I’m the head of, plays an integral role in the formulation of all products. We start with an evidence first approach and zoom in on the market of people adopting a plant based diet and recognizing that they have unique needs. We look at what the evidence tells us, what nutrients are they getting enough of or not enough of and what do they need to help them function at their best everyday? We also look at the forms of those nutrients and select the most bioavailable or readily absorbed to ensure we’re formulating products that are going to make a difference.

What kind of customer should consider the range? (vegan?, vegetarian?, everyone?)

Eimele is for everyone looking to add more plants to their plate and adopt a more sustainable way of living.

What is the best seller?

Eimele Essential 8. It’s a multi nutrient that contains 8 different vitamins and minerals to perfectly complement your plant-based diet. It’s formulated in evidence-based dosages and highly bioavailable forms to fill nutritional gaps while supporting your immune system, increasing your energy levels and maintaining healthy heart and brain function.

I see Essential 8 as an insurance policy. Starting each day with just a few capsules to take the stress out of our diet and know our body has everything it needs to thrive.

Any new products in development?

There are a few exciting launches coming soon. I’ve been working with the other Scientific Advisors on a comprehensive, plant based prenatal and an omega 3 multi nutrient. For more information and to preregister head to the eimele website.

Where do you hope to see Eimele in 3-5 years? Any lofty goals?

I know Eimele is working on getting their B Corp and 1% for the planet certifications. The brand is also passionate about education, that’s one of the reasons I was so attracted to joining the advisory board. So there is something coming soon in that space.

What other brands / companies inspire you and the team?

Brands that challenge us and inspire us to be more innovative, inclusive and sustainable. We’re always asking ourselves what we can do better.

A few brands that come to mind are Nimble Activewear, DL1961 Denim and Ethique.

Who would be your ultimate next ambassador and why?

Rich Roll would be our ultimate next ambassador. His ethos and lifestyle is very aligned to the eimele philosophy and he is an inspiration to people worldwide, and not just within the plant based community.

Who should we interview next?

Dr Gemma Newman, author of The Plant Power Doctor. Gemma recently joined eimele’s Scientific Advisory Board as their Medical Advisor.
