Animals Australia launch new ad campaign nationally

When we heard that Animals Australia was launching a new campaign nationally we were thrilled to hear it. As Australia’s largest animal rights organisation they have the backing and influence to roll out full-scale campaigns and advertisements that can reach all Australians.

They not only have the reach but have always created compelling and thought-provoking advertisements that stop and make Australians think.

The first of the Animals Australia’s two new nationwide TV advertising campaigns has just aired across Australia and it is eye opening indeed. Watch it here below and then head to YouDidntKnow.org to join the movement to free pigs from this cruelty.

The meat industry relies on people ‘not knowing’. Because chances are, if they knew, they would make a different choice. A kinder choice.

A little background on the new campaign

In factory farms around Australia, mother pigs are trapped in a cycle of suffering. Laws don’t protect them, but you can.

Last night, the first of their two new ads, ‘You didn’t know, did you?’ started broadcasting across Australia. It is the hope of Animals Australia and its network, that this powerful vision can give caring consumers across the country reason to pause and question what they haven’t been told about animal ‘production’ practices and why.

The meat industry relies on people ‘not knowing’ – understanding that if they knew, they would make a different choice. Animals Australia are encouraging Aussies to head over to YouDidntKnow.org to discover how they can shape a kinder world for mother pigs and their piglets.

Final Thoughts

We will be waiting in anticipation for the second ad’s release and hope that this one is thought-provoking enough to get Australia’s thinking about the products they are putting into their trolleys and the alternative and very delicious alternatives they could be supporting.

I love the new ad !!! I hope they plaster all channels with ads like these!! Something to tug at the humans heartstrings and make them take notice !!! Make them be aware of the cruelty that happens to get that bacon on their plate!!! I’m so hoping people will become more aware and educate themselves on the whole process !!!

Thanks so much for sharing your comments Sonya! We agree it’s something that as horrible as it is needs to be shown to everyone, thanks for sharing 🙂

Thanks for the comment Steve, obviously we don’t agree with it but always appreciate an open and honest dialogue. We believe standing up for innocent beings makes the world a better place, so thats the only narrative we are focussed on. We like to think that if we can be kinder to animals then hopefully we can all also be kinder to humans through forging new beliefs about the value of all life. Thanks for stopping by and letting us know what you thoughts. LGV

Can’t stop laughing in frustration. The advert rails against buying (and presumably eating) Bacon, yet more than 95% of all AU bacon is imported! The 2-second little words “Made in Australia” on the packet for the other 4.something% doesn’t cut it. Yeh Folks, let’s get bacon and other meats banned in Australia so we can import ALL of it from countries where the welfare regime is 50X worse than ours… or perhaps switch to beef, which is worse for the planet. Why not support ethical farming instead? Why not support REDUCTION in meat as a precursor to Veganism? Why is it always “all or nothing”? Oh, and we are all wise to high contrast photography taken at night, photo-manipulation is being taught in all the TAFEs now, and those piglets were happily asleep. It’s the next century – WHEN are we going to celebrate Veganism rather than just making it a force-fed boringly pretendy-confronting advertising alternative to banning things? Flies are best caught with honey, not vinegar….
