For anyone in Melbourne who owns or is simply a fan of the beautiful greyhound, the AJP has an event for you this September!

Coming up at the end of September is the Great Global Greyhound Walk. The walk is a wonderful chance to walk with the beautiful greyhounds of Melbourne along the Elwood beach and foreshore.

Below are all of the details on what is set to be a fantastic local event, so be sure to mark this one in the diary 🙂

 

 

The Details

Join us for the Great Global Greyhound Walk in St Kilda, hosted by the Animal Justice Party’s South Metro Members.

This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate sighthounds and connect with fellow dog lovers in the community. Whether you’re a proud greyhound human companion or simply an admirer, come along and enjoy a beautiful morning stroll along the stunning Bay Trail.

Meeting Point: Look for us near the fenced dog park and marina carpark side of M.O. Moran Reserve. We’ll start gathering from 9:30 am and aim to set off at 10:00 am.

Route: We’ll start at M.O. Moran Reserve and walk along the Bay Trail past Point Ormond and onto Elwood Beach. We’ll turn around at the kiosk and head back to Point Ormond for a group photo. A shorter walk option is available, ending at Point Ormond where toilets are accessible.

Duration: Up to an hour

Parking: Limited free parking is available on Marine Parade. Additional paid parking can be found at the nearby St Kilda Marina carpark.

Amenities: The walk is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. There are toilets available along the route, and a café for refreshments at the turnaround point.
