Meat The Future – Trailer & Thoughts

Clean Meat, it’s a term you are going to be hearing a lot about in the future.

Clean Meat ie cellular meat, is any meat grown in a lab using the cell of an animal in a lab.

Whilst this might sound like science fiction, it’s slowly emerging as a solution for the global need to feed billions of people. Experts also want to avoid complete environmental collapse at the same time. We know that in the future the world will require more and more food and yet the strain on the land is already becoming increasingly untenable, and scientist are seeking out solutions.

Whilst this solution seems an obvious one, as we will see there are many many threats, obstacles, and hurdles to overcome before this style of clean meat becomes a cost-effective alternative to ‘traditional meat’. This is now the task for producers such as Memphis Meats and others to fast track the process and bring to market a product that is safe, affordable, and tastes great. They certainly have their work cut out for them, with lobby groups, farmers and consumer apprehension all areas to be overcome.

From a vegan & animal rights point of view in which we are focussed on, this science and concept is a complete game-changer. What this technology has the potential to do is change the way we farm, change the way we use animals, and most importantly allow people to have their meat without the suffering.

The fact that the planet’s environment will also be saved isn’t a bad by-product either 🙂

So let’s take a little look at just what is going on in the world of clean meats!

Thoughts?
