From November 2nd-5th, Newkind Social Change Conference, is hosting a unique conference-festival hybrid in Redbank, Victoria for people to come together and engage with critical social discourses under the theme of
Rest. Repair. Redesign.
This year event organisers revealed they’ve not only secured a permanent site, but they’re also launching a community farm project on the same 90-acre property as a way to provide some relief during a cost of living crisis.
This year’s theme of Rest. Repair. Redesign provides a lens to consider the key issues facing society, from climate to migration, gender equality to business and economics, social cohesion, education and mental health.
Over 4-days, attendees enjoy discussion panels, talks, and workshops in a festival style atmosphere, with entertainment late into the evenings, with camping and meals included.
Event Manager Sophie Appleton said, “To correct the course we are on as a global family, we need to reimagine our systems and our interpersonal relationships, if we want to save our precious planet, and this requires both deep listening and authentic consultation”.
Kind Enterprises has hosted Newkind Conference since 2017 in a family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free atmosphere with zero-waste and renewable energy principles, as a way to inspire and empower actions for positive social action.
All event details, speakers list, full program and FAQs are at www.newkindconference.com so be sure to take a look at all of the amazing speakers, workshops and events over the 4 day conference.
A special mention to speaker Sheena Chhabra from Plant Based Treaty AU who does incredible work in the area of food systems, who will be speaking at this years event.
