Smith & Daughters are changing the menu in 2024

Smith & Daughters Social Club has now launched
Smith and Daughters has always been the OG in the vegan food scene in Australia.
Whilst they certainly weren’t the first vegan restaurant to launch down-under, they were the first to put vegan cuisine on the map!
S&D were the first to create contemporary vegan dishes that truly blew the socks off ‘meat eaters’ expectations of how good vegan food can be.
So when Shannon Martinez the founder, creative head and spiritual leader of S&D announced that they were taking their Collingwood venue in a new (or acutally old) direction back to it’s casual roots, we were intrigued.
Enter Smith & Daughters Social Club, an ode the original S&D experience of drop in dining, exciting drinks and of course great food and company. The new direction for the establishment comes as head chef of six years Josh Bosen embarks on a new chapter and new Head Chef Sean Mears enters the fold. Both he and Shannon felt they wanted to close the fine dining chapter with Josh’s departure, as a bit of a tribute to his six year tenure.
The new plan: to cook more casual, fun, snacky style food; getting back to the early days of S + D’s big and brash cooking.
‘Hi-octane flavour in low-fi bites’, Smith & Daughters Social Club will involve food that the team loves to cook and loves to eat.
Smith + Daughters Social Club kicked off their first service on Thursday the 8th of August 2024 and are now taking bookings and rearing to go in this exciting new chapter.
Take a little look below at just some of the amazing new menu items you can expect to see at S&D.

The Food

@melbournefoodandwine Smith + Daughters is entering a new era with a more casual, more approachable take on vegan dining. The new menu is snack heavy, it’s umami loaded, and it’s damn easy on the wallet with plenty of plates at around $10 a pop. #MFWF #MelbourneEats #vegan #veganfood ♬ Wanted (Instrumental) – SoulChef
