What exactly is Veganuary?

Veganuary is a voluntary challenge encouraging people to go vegan for the month of January. It is meant to raise awareness about the environmental, animal welfare, and health benefits of a vegan lifestyle and to encourage people to make the switch to veganism on a permanent basis.

What do vegans eat?

Vegans adhere to a diet that is void of any animal products or by-products. They rely on plant foods such as grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. The diet of a vegan also includes fortified plant milks (aka “mylks”), healthy oils, and herbs & spices. Plant-based meats are also an option.

Plant-based meats are also becoming popular for non-vegans as they are seen as a healthier alternatives to traditional meat and are known to have fewer environmental impacts.

Vegans do not purchase any products made from or derived from animals, such as meat, eggs, dairy, leather, fur, wool, honey and other animal by-products.

What do Vegans wear?

Vegans typically wear clothing made from plant-based fabrics such as cotton, linen, hemp, and bamboo, as well as synthetic fabrics like polyester and nylon that do not involve any animal-based products. They may also purchase vegan-friendly shoes and accessories that have not been constructed using leather or fur.

Additionally, many clothing brands are now offering items made from recycled and upcycled materials. Vegan shoes may be made from canvas, rubber, and microfiber materials. Regarding accessories, vegans can find animal-free alternatives such as faux leather bags, belts, wallets and belts.

Slay Documentary will give you an insight into why vegans don’t wear animal-based items.
