Lab Grown Meat – Ethical?
The questions surrounding the gradual introduction of lab-grown meat is sure to raise some questions and raise some eyebrows. Lab-grown meat or ‘clean meat’ as it is being dubbed is a process whereby cells are taken from a live animal and replicated inside the laboratory. The animal does not need to be killed in order for this process to take place, making it a gray area for those opposed to animal cruelty and the eating of animal products.
But the question is if the world could eat meat without killing any animals in the process, is there anything wrong with this? We are staying squarely on the fence with this one for now, but take a look below at a few of the breakthroughs taking place inside the lab-grown meat world.
“Food scientists and startups are trying to make meat more ethically appealing by growing it — cell by cell — in a lab instead of on a farm. Even some vegans support so-called “clean” meat. But can lab grown meat overcome the dreaded “yuck factor?”
