Let’s Graze! Sunday 30 October 2022
If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise… it‘s the Vegan Picnic!
Think vegans feast on grass? You‘re right, but only when it‘s to picnic upon!
This October, Adelaide‘s world-class vegan food scene plays host to a one-day food festival right in the heart of the city.
VEGAN PICNIC! Let’s Graze!
Date: Sunday 30 October 2022
Times: 11am-5pm
Location: Rundle Street/Kadlitpina
Cost: FREE
Vegan Festival Adelaide has become an annual centrepiece celebration in the event calendar among Adelaidean, interstate, and international vegans, vegan-curious and food-lovers alike. Vegan Picnic makes sure this year’s vegan vibes aren‘t going anywhere! This one day food-focused festival from 11am to 5pm on Sunday October 30th 2022 is a compact version of the Festival, which local vegans refer to as ‘Vegan Christmas‘, is FREE to attend and all you‘ve got to bring is a rug and a hearty appetite.
There are more than 20,000 edible plants in the world, and while we can‘t promise they‘ll all be available on the day, you can be assured that just because animals are off the menu doesn‘t mean you‘ll miss out on choices. The stellar food line-up includes Staazi & Co (ranked in the top 10 vegan food trucks worldwide), dairy-free cheese from Milkless Cheese, plant-based meat from Love Buds burgers, gluten-free donuts from OMG! Donuts and alcohol-free mocktails at Don‘t Mock Me. Chocolates, ice-cream, succulents; if it‘s made out of plants, chances are you‘ll find it at the 50 vendors at the Vegan Picnic!
South Australia‘s vegan food and festival scenes are world-class and, for one day only, they‘re uniting on the tree-lined grass of Rundle Park/Kadlitpina, East Terrace. Vegan Picnic features a huge variety of vegan food, as well as select retail outlets and charity organisations. All with plenty of space for the whole community to enjoy a plant-based degustation on the grass. Fur-companions welcome, too! With gourmet dog treats from Veggie Paws and doggo massages from PetZen, both you and your furry friends have something to look forward to at the end of October.
Veganism continues to rapidly grow and the use of plant based alternatives for traditional products has entered the mainstream. Adelaide‘s reputation for good food and social justice change means it should be no surprise that it‘s ranked as the world’s 12th most popular city for veganism, and Australia comes in 2nd in Google‘s worldwide ranking of veganism‘s popularity worldwide.
Whether it‘s for ethical motivations, environmental reasons or because the food is so damn good, people across all demographics are opting for cruelty-free food and the vegan lifestyle overall. Vegan Picnic celebrates the culinary creativity of South Australia‘s plant based chefs and gives vegans, the V-curious and begrudging sceptics, the opportunity to enjoy the best of local vegan food creations among like minded friends.
There‘s plenty of reasons to go vegan, and absolutely no excuses not to mark the Vegan Picnic from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, October 30 into your calendar.
Graze upon the grass in Rundle Park/Kadlitpina, East Terrace in the heart of Adelaide and let the best of the best show you why SA‘s food culture and vegan festival scene are world class. This one-day-only, picnic event in the park is your chance to see, smell and taste that anything you can dream of can be made vegan!
