“There are some places in the world that just leave an impression” This was the quote by US vegan burger joint Mr Charlies in reference to the incredible news that they are opening a store here in Australia in Redfern Sydney.

In a recent social media post the company announced that over the next few weeks, they will be opening a store in Redfern Sydney located next door to the Aboriginal Employment Strategy offices.

The company has chosen the position due to its community-centric nature that it believes aligns with its own.

The company said in its recent social media post:

“We are proud to be teaming up with some incredible charities and brand partners who are creating opportunity for the Aboriginal people.”

What is Mr Charlies?

Founded in California the company says on its website that they are founded by three weird dudes, a lovable Korean chef, a manifesting Brit, and a creative, who’s honestly an alien. Brave misfits, creators, disrupters, and Dada’s (!!!), who give a shit about the world and the people we share it with. This is their description and from everything they do, its clear these are no ordinary founders.

The companies stores in California, focus on employing those people whom the system has failed and who are in need of a second chance, and we imagine this will be the same in Sydney Australia too.

So what do they make? Well they are more or less the vegan version of Mcdonald’s, with a lot more cheek and fun thrown in! They are a burger joint focussed on doing good in all areas of the business and they also make food that looks amazing! Not only does the food look fantastic but they have fun and playful branding that is sure to please even the non vegans amonst us!
